What’s New for 2026? *

  • A virtual festival of young horses on Wednesday includes WHS Breeding classes for both Thoroughbreds and Non-Thoroughbreds, the USHJA Zone 3 Breeding Championships (HOTY), and the Virginia Breeder’s Fund Yearling Futurity brought to you by the Virginia Thoroughbred Association.

  • The $7,500 William E. “Bill” Graves Memorial Thoroughbred Hunter Derby, will be a two-round hunter class at 3 feet and is open to Thoroughbred horses of all backgrounds. A Challenge Bonus of another $7,500 will also be awarded to competitors in the ‘first leg’, the TB Derby at the Upperville show. The TAKE2 Division includes two over fences classes at 3 feet and an under saddle class.

  • Both Derby’s on Friday will offer $2,500 in prize money!

  • New Divisions include WHS Young Hunter on Thursday for horses 7 and under with jump heights of 2’6” an 2’9”. On Saturday, there will be a new Short Stirrup Division with jumps at 18” and a Long Stirrup Division with jumps at 2’.

  • Based on popular demand there will be two Hilltoppers Under Saddle Classes this year, including a class for 12 and under and a class for Hilltoppers Over 12. Tally ho!
