Guidelines for tack and attire appointments for the WHS Corinthian Class

Appointments are important. Here are some guidelines. For a complete list you can refer to The Chronicle of the Horse Appointments.

  • Flat bridle with no rubber on reins

  • Flat breastplate

  • Spurs for call back, can leave off over fences

  • No saddle pad for call back, can use over fences

  • Black dress boots, have boots straps to match boots, either flat black for patent leather or brown for men

  • White string gloves under saddle flaps, fingers forward, wear brown gloves

  • Adults carry hunt whip, children optional

  • Sandwich case for ladies and children with proper sandwich in wax paper and sherry or port for women and tea for children; men carry flask

  • Approved plain helmet or top hat, women wear hairnet

  • If staff have wire cutters, no sandwich case
